CLINIC FAQs

What does it cost to get started?
Initial consultations are $240, because new clients book two, 1-hour sessions, each $120. New clients receive their first herbal formula free!

When do I book a follow-up?
Clients typically check in when their formula is almost out, or around 3 months from their last appointment (4 times a year). You can book this session at any time via my online booking calendar.

What is a tincture?
A tincture is a plant extract, usually preserved in alcohol, sometimes glycerine or vinegar. They are kinda like a tea, but easier to take, especially for busy urban people!

Why do you focus on serving people in the San Francisco Bay Area?
While I often work virtually, and can meet with anyone in the world, as an herbalist I work bioregionally. This means, I primarily work with people who are local to where I live and I make herbal remedies from plants that grow in my bioregion.
I find value in creating in-person relationships, like I might run into you at the grocery store! Additionally, I see using local plants and working with local people as living-value of sustainability. In this way, we can reduce our carbon footprint together.
I’m not sure this is right for me, and my situation, can you clarify?
Yes! Book a Curiosity Call! These are free 15 minute sessions where we chat about any questions that are coming up for you and I can share more about how I work in clinical practice.
Do you work with people who don’t live in SF?
Yes! Absolutely. I can work with people elsewhere via Zoom.
Do you offer payment plans?
At this time, no. Please reach out to me via email (brw dot herbalist at gmail dot com) if you are wanting to work with me but my pricing feels impossible for your current financial situation.
Do you have weekend availability?
At this time, no. If my current availability does not meet your needs, send me an email and let me know (brw dot herbalist at gmail dot com). There may be times I can be more flexible with my availability.

How much email correspondence is included as an active client?
Good question! Some things are easier said over email, while other things are best said in real time. I welcome clients to email me between sessions and I usually get 0-2 emails from a person between sessions. Some people prefer to connect in this way, while others don’t. Either way is totally cool, as I want clients to feel welcome to reach out as needed! As a client, you might even see me pop-into your inbox too!

Who is an active client?
Active clients are defined in my practice as having had a 1-hour consultation within the past year. If you have been a client in my practice and would like to re-start, please reach out and we can discuss the best way to re-activate our work together.
What is energetic herbalism?
Energetic herbalism is the practice of using plants to address all parts of a person, including physical and energetic bodies. The former being the densest form of our energy, the latter being the most disparate form of our energy. This style of herbalism was taught to me by Karyn Sanders and Sarah Holmes at the Blue Otter School of Herbal Medicine and is rooted in Karyn’s Choctaw family lineage.
What does this work ask of me as the client?
During our meeting, just show up. There is no need to take notes. Expect that I will ask questions. A client told me once, it was the most in-depth intake she had ever experienced. It may feel very personal. Others have said it feels like a relief to share and explore themself in a deep way.
Once you receive your herbs and recommendations, aim to take herbs daily, and start to incorporate the recommendations. You can expect this routine to take 5 - 15 mins daily.
I’m not sure about how herbs can support me...
There are a lot of ways herbs can prevent physical or emotional imbalances. If you’re not quite ready to sign up, I recommend signing up for my newsletter so you can learn more about my practice of herbalism.
I’ve worked with other herbalists with no luck...
I’d love to know about your experience with herbs and other integrative healing modalities so I can do my best to support you in the ways you would like to see change or receive support. Reach out and let's chat!

What happens after a consultation?
It usually takes me a few days to a week to synthesise all the information I receive in our inital intake. Then, typically I send you your First Protocol and a 2oz personalized tincture formula via USPS mail. Below is an example protocol I might make for a client.
