Life is stressful. Herbs can help.

Magickal Herb Walk at SF Botanical Garden Sunday October 28, 11 - 12:30pm Modern Witches Confluence, Country Fair Building in Golden Gate Park, SF

Meet me at the garden gates of San Francisco Botanical Gardens, and we will go on a magickal plant walk! Bonnie Rose will guide participants in ways to identify many plants used for medicine and ceremony that also grow locally in Golden Gate Park. We will review common and botanical names, discuss folklore, growing tips, dosage, medicinal use and medicine making methods. Participants will likely desire a small notebook, good walking shoes, sunblock/hat and water.

Ancestor Ceremony Friday November 2, 6-8pm Five Pins Project, 491A Guerrero St. SF

Let us gather when the veil is thin to honor and listen to the ancestors. Dreams, divination, astrology, plants and geography are all tools to help us dive deeper with understanding where we come from. We will open with a few grounding exercises. We will call in our ancestors of the highest good. We will discuss practices to help us connect to those who have come before us, chosen or blood. Participation is encouraged and photos and/or offerings are welcome. Together we will build an altar, and allow the thinning of the veil to guide us. Space is very limited.

How to Make a Salve Tuesday November 6, 6:30 - 8:30 pm The Ruby, 2507 Bryant St. SF

Salve is a traditional ointment for cuts, bumps, scrapes and bruises. An all-purpose remedy, it’s a must-have for any holistic apothecary. Learn to make this simple balm in a hands-on class, where we will review uses and benefits of each ingredient. Then, we will roll up our sleeves to learn the kitchen-witching magick of salve making. Learn tricks of the trade and leave with a jar of hand-made herbal goodness that is sure to sooth, protect, and heal for many moons to come.

Winter/Night/Seed

Tuesday December 11, 6-8 pm

The Scarlet Sage Herb Co. 1193 Valencia St. SF

And don’t think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter. It’s quiet, but the roots are down there riotous.

- Rumi The cyclical energy of life on Earth has ebbs and flows for good reason. Winter is a time for stillness. How can we best greet the night? How can we use the wisdom of plants to harness the power of silence? In this seasonal, interdisciplinary workshop we will cover practices to deepen into the energy of winter. Through meditation, journaling, tarot, herbs and dreamwork, this class is for those who want to utilize the fertility of winter to harness a brilliant spring.
